That's fairly normal; most UPS's are rated to run at max load only for
about 4-5 minutes; enough to cover a short outage, and then initiate a
shutdown.

That sounds more like a 2200XL; I've got two downstairs here at work,
each with 4 battery packs - runs for hours ;)  AFAIR, the 2200 has an
internal battery pack, the 2200XL has none and requires at least one
external pack.
