It works for me. Ancient Thinkpad 760E running W98SE + IE 6 connected via a
Wifi card to Linksys router and then ZyXel ADLS modem/router.
I used to use NTL and I don't remember them using proprietary networking
software, so it should be OK.
As for Microsoft, if W98 didn't talk to the Internet, why does the online
update service still provide W98 security updates?
