Sounds like you might need the dongle - but depends on the age of the card.
The dongle should support all upgrades from now on so you won't need a new
one each time an upgrade is released (at least that's what normally
happens). They introduced the dongle as pirate cards were being sold that
used their software.

You could try Keith at RFConcepts for the dongle - don't know if he will
supply one FOC or make some kind of handling charge? There are other
suppliers in the UK though that may respond quicker than he does (he's a
bit notorious for not replying to emails).

I have the D-sub GV650 - similar to the daughter board but on the card
itself. I'm not sure exactly how yours works but I'd say either ports 1-4
BNC on your card will be operable plus ports 1-4 on the daughter card. OR
ports 1-8 on the daughter card. Ports 9-16 definitely won't be connected.
Simple to test though - just plug the video source in to each in turn.
