I've looked over the Geovision site, and the rfconcepts uk one, and can
see it states a USB dongle is required for the free software update etc.
What i can't work out is where i can get one from ?
I purchased my GV650 from ebay, and yes it's a genuine one, company
bought system and then never installed it, so i got it half price off
them, complete in box, manuals etc etc.
Does a UK supplier have to supply me with a songle for install even if
i did not purchase system directly from them ?
I've purchased things like GV-NET from rfconcepts.
Another question would be that if the dongle is required to upgrade,
what happens if you need to re-install etc.
Are you then needing the dongle sent to you everytime ?
I'm also slightly confused on another point.
I've installed the GV650 which has the 4 BNC connectors on the back and
for my setup that's fine as i have 3 cameras with a 4th planned.
I have a daughterboard supplied with it with an IDE cable, but the
daughterboard has two 15pin D-Sub connectors on it and i have one lead
that plugs into this and has 8 BNC's off it.
The markings indicate one port does cam1-8 and the other cam 9-16.
Is it worthwile me connecting this now before system is up and running
and away in the loft, and if i do so, do i use the BNC's on the
mainboard only, or the ones on the flylead.
It certainly has me confused, i'm not even sure that this daughterboard
is the one that should come with a GV650, as i expected as per pics, a
mini board with another 4 BNC connections, rather than this one.
Am i missing something here.
I've had the system working when i tested it with two cameras and GV-
NET with the PTZ etc, so i know it works, I just can't work out about
the useage of this daughterboard with flylead setup.
Thanks for the help so far Paul ;)
cheers
Geraint.
