Well, I tried this and it worked!  So that's handy to know for the
future :)

Unfortunately I'm not much further on, as I can't figure out how to
mount the disk once I boot into MFSTools / Unix.

It's attached as the master on the second IDE channel, so I used :-

mount /dev/hdc1 /mnt/dos

but I get the following errors :-

/dev/hdc1: invalid argument
hdc1: bad access: block=3D0, count=3D1
end request: I/O error, dev 16:01 (hdc) sector 0
FAT: unable to read boot sector
mount: you must specify the file system type

I get the same errors with the original Tivo drive, but my PC Windows
drive mounts OK as /dev/hda1.  Most odd :{

I've had a look for clues on the net but haven't found anything yet.
I'll try tomorrow from work where I've got a much faster connection and
can actually do some proper searching.

If anybody has any ideas though, please let me know.
