This bit is defintely wrong - once you open the corresponding serial
port on the PC from any application ( xAPTel, xPL, even HyperTerminal
@1200 8N1 ) then that red light should be permanently illuminated. The
Meteor draws power from the PC serial port this way - it wont work until
that light is on. Starting with Hyperterminal is the easiest way to
ascertain it's working.
