Have you looked at mcsMusic which is a plugin for Homeseer.

Web control of multiple PC Based Audio players, winamp etc. This can be
across many machines.... Music stored centrally available to all zones.

I'm trying it at the moment with a touch screen but having issues with
the MS Access database used to store track info....

Following on from the multi screen thread - here's an alternative that I

want. Whole house audio using a browser (ie WiFi iPaq), with the
amplification done at Node 0. XLobby looks nice, but a total dog on an
iPaq - and it's overkill. Whats wrong with a basic browser - less to go
wrong at the "client" end.

The big problem I have is the "server" end - what kit can dish
out
multiple zone audio (a PC is fine for this, despite my reservations
about
using PC's for any home control). So what I would like is :

Browser clients (I have cheap WiFi iPaqs in mind)
Possible PC based system
Multi Zone audio outputs.
Amplification done at Node 0.
Distributed ceilings mounted speakers in each room (I have identified 8
zones so far). Cabling back to Node 0 (prob T&E cable!)

I heard of the 3rd party driver that gets 3 x stereo outputs from a
Creative Live card - not sure if you can have multiple cards in one pc
tho
- but that would be a cheap way of doing it.  I've also not seen any
cheap
amps that have many zone outputs. I'm not after hi fidelity here - i
just
want convenience. But mebe the sound card option would be enough
amplification ?

That's basically it beyond the current wiring for CBus and Comfort. Am i

asking too much ?
