Floor lifts for Plasma screens

My plasma screen is in a bay window - unfortunate but it is really the only
place for it. However it obscures a lot of light from the room when not in
use. So ideally I would like this to descend to floor level (or below even)
using a lift mechanism. At floor level I would conceal it in a small narrow
chest I guess, but I worry about the traditional TV scissor type designs.
I think something side/rear attached to the screen is probably better. I
had
considered a screw threaded rack/pinion (wrong terms but you may know what
I
mean) mechanical lift with some form of motor below the floor which rotates
the threads on each side of the screen and it rises. I even thought of
wires
and a pulley arrangement but the thought of them becoming detached sends
shivers down the spine. Even a balanced hand operated system would do.

Does anyone know of a company making such lift options for plasmas - no
doubt they are horrendously expensive...
