Subject: [ukha_d] Automated Bin - a more serious suggestion

Been doing some thinking about this, and I'm not convinced that the
"bin
on
wheels" in the right way to go.

The problem is actually "how do I automate rubbish removal"
rather than
"how
do I empty the bin".

The answer may be in "laundry chutes" - a self-build friend of
mine has
these, and they work very well. Just a big tube, at the bottom of which is
an oversized laundry basket.

It wouldn't be beyond the wit of man to add one of these for waste
disposal... and add an extra in the kitchen that vented organic waste
straight to the compost bin outside.

Not exactly retro-fittable, but worth considering for the 2007 self-build
:-)

M.
