have just spoken to my isp F2S.com about this issue and there response was:

Place the order with them and they will carry out a line test (whether you
are
marginal or not). If the line test is ok, the order goes through, if it
isnt
the order is cancelled, VOILA.

Freedom 2 Surf dont seem to be as pedantic about marginal customers as BT,
they
will undertake the line test anyway. Try them and see what happens
