Same thing that I had happen with a several hudred dollar discman a few
years
back, it got the scratches in the first week of owning it, and it didnt
affect
the operation of the thing, till the opticals went weak and would only read
pressed discs, and even then only for the first 1/3-1/2 of the disc.
