I recently used these guys - http://www.dotcosoftware.com/ -
recovery link in
bottom right corner.

They got 20Gig of data off an old 2.3" drive that the BIOS denied even
existed.
About 250 quid, which was the cheapest quote I got.  Send them an empty
drive
for the data, or maybe they can reformat your old one and stuff the data on
that. Or they'll do CD/DVD (at a cost).
