I have a win2kserver running as stable as ever for years now.
I think I will be rebuilding back to win2k Workstation.

Me too. I had W2k running faultlessly (well almost) for 2 years, and seduced
by the 1 genuinely useful feature of XP (Buggered if I can remember what it
was now) I migrated and have had to rebuild this system from the ground up
about once a quarter since.

Somewhere in a parallel universe things are different - Software works
faultlessly, Instant coffee tastes of coffee and Ringo is a really great
drummer....

Not so sure..

I see this a lot from windows *fecking* XP, accessing Samba, or W2K shares.
Windows 98 doesn't have a problem. I suspect the problem isn't at the
sharing end...

Ian.
