Re: [OT] Composite Video to VGA
I've just bought a Prolink PlayTV Box (£65 + VAT). It has inputs for
composite video + stereo audio, S-Video, Antenna (for tuning analogue
terrestrial or cable) and VGA + audio from a PC. It has VGA and stereo
audio
out.
So basically you can connect games box, VCR, digital video camera, PC etc
to
it and watch any of them (+ TV from its internal tuner) on your PC monitor
and listen to the sound from all of them via whatever sound system you
have.
Max. res. is 1024 x 768, which would be fine for many monitors. I tried
attaching it to an 18" LCD with native resolution of 1280 x 1024 and
the
picture quality from the internal tuner was still excellent, which
surprised me.
