For what it is worth I use 
Fetchmail - to pop mail
Exim - as MTA
Procmail - to filter mail
Courier - as IMAP server and intend to use it for Web access as well.

I'm pretty happy with it, has run flawlessly for a year or so.  Went
for
Courier as it is one of the few to support Maildir format.
