Re: [totally OT] - Herman Miller Aeron Chair
Re: [ukha_d] [totally OT] - Herman Miller Aeron Chair
My wife is Health & Saftey adviser for a large UK company - She deals
with
DSE assesments quite a lot and swears by the Aeron chairs
Here is her response...
This is an very good price. I'd be very surprised if anyone can get
them
cheaper for a one off purchase. The only way to get them down any
further
would be to bulk buy.
I would argue that the forward tilt is an essential feature, as it
really
complements the chair design and allows the user to gain maximum
benefit
>from
shouldn't be all that great, and for the sake of a few quid I would go
for
this option every time.
Don't touch the cheapo ex lease or bankrupt stock ones. I have herd
that
there are some counterfeit aerons out there on the market being touted
by
people who's sole aim is to rip you off.
Herman Millar only market through a network of approved agents. I
would
advise that you only purchase from these companies. That way, if
there is
every a problem with the chair, you can be sure that any repair or
replacement will be carried out under Herman Millar's 10 year
guarantee.
Herman Millar will provide details of agents in your area

Guys
I want one of these for my office at home, as the el cheapo Ikea thing
I've
got is slowly falling apart. If you don't know what they are, it's
the one
that Dimbleby sits in for Question Time, and can be found here.....

They are a bit pricey - the best price I can get for a single chair
(without
the forward tilt - not really a must-have feature) is ?465 inc Del, ex
VAT.
They do crop up on eBay, but mostly these are ex-lease, so not in the
best
of nick.
So, anyone know a cheaper supplier of good office furniture?
Pete
