RE: XP Networking

Sorry for not replying earlier, had to go out shopping (for boring
stuff).

The system event log shows 2 reoccurring errors:

1. - A warning - An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\D
during
a paging operation
2 - an error - The device \Device\Scsi\hpt3xx1, did not respond within
the
timeout period

The laptop was upgraded to XP, but I've not made any changes server
side.
The laptop sits on a Novell network in the office, but it didn't cause
a
problem before under W98.  All connection are fine, I can view shared
drives
etc etc, but whenever I transfer any large amount of data (a file copy,
or
print job), it gets half way through and just hangs, forever.  This
applies
regardless of whether the xfer was initiated by the server or the
laptop.

PS The server is fine in every other respect until it tries to talk to
the
laptop, and the drive diags all check out OK.

Have you looked at the event log?

I apologise if you have already.. I know xp can crash hard enough to
not
make any entries, but its a good place to start..

To better understand, you have upgraded the notebook to XP but the server
