Re: UK spec Audiotron Bulk Buy

Been busy this am, so hitting this discussion late.

I'm happy with people making a modest profit, as long as they are honest about it, as Tony has been. IMO time and effort should be reward, and as someone said, at the very least by the cost of a pint. I think it's entirel= y
up the the individuals, both the bulk purchaser, and the others as to
whether they are happy with it.

And remember - Tony didn't have to go to the effort of chasing up a Europen=
deal.

Oh, and I don't mind waiting until July either, if that's still relevant.

Hi folks,

I've had a number of discussions with the European distributor of the
Audiotron and we have managed to come to an agreement on a bulk buy of
the
220v Audiotron.

These are the costs to ship directly to you

Qty            15&nb= sp;     20      50  =     100
Price            265=       262      255 &= nbsp;    250

Not that I expect 100 people to go for it, but that's what I've got so
I'm
passing it on to you.

I had about 15 orders for the US devices, so I assume that I will have
at
least that number for these ones, so you're looking at a saving already
over
the US price of a tenner, given that you all opted for the 220v
conversion.
In the spirit of other bulk buys, I will reveal that I am making a
_small_
profit on this, but given that it's less than the US price you agreed,
and I
would have made a small profit on the 220v conversions, (which obviously now
won't happen) I don't see there should be a problem with this.

Re: Waranties - this is what they said:
"As a EC liscensed sales agent we must honor all EC law with respect t= o
guarantees,
however, the purchaser is responible for the postage paid in both
directions."

Voltage:
"The unit will be delivered with the either a US chord or
a Scandinavian cord at this moment. We can=B4t get a favorable price for the
UK cord in such a short time. The voltage is 220 EC standard."

Okay, so you might have to fork out for a 3amp plug and wire it up, but
that
shouldn't be too taxing :)
I can give you the colour codes for the US leads if that's what we get.
If
it's Scandinavian, gawd knows!

So: Good price, warranty, voltage correct - there must be a downside
right?
Correct! (Unfortunately)

On Shipping:
"The delivery date for shipment from Yonkers NY, is ex=E5ected in 14 d= ays.
If
this date
is met, we expect to see our order of 250 units here in Denmark by the
middle
of July. We will ship the units to the UK with a delivery time of
maximum 5
days."

Yep - that is 'July' and not 'June' - I checked with them.  They must = be
caoneing over with the devices or something!
They will be shipping direct to you and not to me though, so at least
there
will be no further delays at this end.

Everyone was happy to wait until the end of June to buy these - are we
all
happy to wait now even longer????
I am because I already have one Audiotron - are you?  Remember - cheap= er
and
warrantied!

This also means of course, that the previously closed list is now open
again, so anyone who wants to join the buy can, and those already in the buy
- please confirm you want to stay in the buy even with the longer delay.
Those who have sent me a cheque already, I will return them and you can
issue another later - unless of course you want me to keep the extra
tenner?
:D

Oh, I forgot to ask them and have just whipped off an email about
shipping
to NI/Eire/Norway just incase some of you international UKHA'ers want to get
in on the act (Soz Des, I don't think NZ would be cost effective for
them!)

So there you go.  I'm off on hols for a week on Saturday, so you have = at
least a week to decide.
Although it's ages away yet until they are shipped, I'd still like to
get
the order wrapped up pretty quick to ensure we get our share of the
initial
250 batch - it would be a shame if we can't get all we want in the first batch because too many get allocated elsewhere.......

Cheers,

Tony.

PS - will move this back to HABUY once it is stable and virus free...... :]
