Nigel

In my experience, the Message Pro modem worked well, but is was not without
teething problems. If I were starting again I would definitely buy a Meteor
unit, although this would require some coding to get it to work with
HS/HSP.

With a few scripts HomeSeer Phone is a great addition to HomeSeer. The main
problem for me was that it wants to use US style phone numbers, that did my
head in, so I wrote a parsing function to deal with the way HSP presents
the
number to HS. I use another (borrowed and butchered) script to look up
incoming numbers against the HSP phone book, another to display the last 20
callers in a web page and another to send a winpopup message across my LAN.
If there is no one at home I get caller info sent to me using email ->
sms.
It's all a bit cobbled together at the moment, but it works!

As I said in my previous post, I no longer use (or in fact own) the Message
Pro, as it wouldn't work with NTL.
My current modem works well, but is a no go with BT caller id. I am still
considering buying a Meteor to have a play with (it's screaming out for a
HS
plugin!).

Justin.
