Doh!!  No wonder I got stuck, just looked at Port B in the HV manual - it all becomes clear!

Graham,

Not Port A, Ports B or C as they are inputs, Port A is an output port!

On a PIR the connections should be:

+ to 12V DC positive not fed from HV
- to 12V DC negative  "   "    "   "
+ Relay to one of the ports on HV B or C
- Relay to the corresponding GND to above on HV
The tamper connections I take it you're not bothered about if it's for
bringing on lights.
