How about one of the many immobility solutions typically used for
elderly people who might fall at home. There are wristband type radio
transmitters that call a pre programmed number(s) when pressed and
give a voice message.... or if you are into the HA scene you could
use a panic style button (even doorbell) at the side of the bed to
trigger a voice dialout with something like Comfort or some other HA
device eg PC/voice modem
