Re: Barcode scanners

Ditto. Mine didn't have a recognisable model number on it beyond the generic "3400" tag. Mine also has a D type connector and DIN connector. The D type has an ickle sticker on it saying "TTL out" which is why I think it doesn't work with 12v RS232 [that and the fact I tried it ;-(]

Mine has been well used, but has been cleaned up quite nicely.

The DIN connector looks a bit like an AT keyboard connector, although I'd need to dig one out the loft to prove it. However, I'm not sure it will be suitable for plugging in to a PC in that way since there is no pass through to plug a keyboard into at the same time.

Ray, I think I found that link for the docs, but I could not work out which model I was supplied, as the model number on the unit was not listed on the docs. What model were you supplied?? Mine has a 9pin Dtype & DIN connector.

Also, my unit was _very_ used. Lots of scratches, even spots of paint on the unit. They are guaranteed, but I have not had a chance to check it out yet. Let me know if you figure out how to connect to a PC.

Thanks!

Craig

      Craig,

I didn't get any docs come with it at all (hence why I foolishly plugged it straight into my PC's serial port). However, a bit of web searching turned up PDF manuals for it... Just wish I'd looked first :-(
