Either format should get the job done, I guess the cost will dictate how
many rooms people decide to add displays to.  Perhaps You'd have VFD's in
the main rooms with cheaper LCD's in the others.  Maybe we'll all just start
saving for the nicest displays we can afford.

I'm wondering what sort of distration these displays would make in a
darkened room.  I guess it would be kinda nice if they dimmed to match the
amount of ambiant light in the room.

Well it makes a change from pictures of the naked display hardware.  I think
I'd prefer something a lot plainer, all white with just 4-6 small buttons on
it.  The visable display should take up as much of the pannel as possible.
Another think to consider for mounting, can the displays be seperated from
the circuit boards they are normally shown on.  The boards often appear to
be a lot biger than the screens.

I'd been thinking of a single sized plate, but double will obviously allow a
wider display.  For me, in most rooms, the display would be next to a single
sized light switch.  Though for the lounge it'll be next to my Lutron which
is an oversized double, maybe 2cm higher than normal.
