It does if line23 switching is not present.
KAT5 will preserve line 23 and in the future will preserve pin 8 switching
too.
If I do not have line 23 in the first place, I will not get it at the other
end of KAT5

Equally, if at the other end, I am not feeding into a SCART destination then
pin 8 is still no good.
Ideally, KAT5 would, on detecting pin 8 or line 23, present _both_ at the
other end.
Of course, ideally, KAT5 would allow me to feed in RGB and get out Svideo at
the other end too :-)
