Nik,

I'm afraid that at the moment you don't have any choice. Until someone comes
up with a hack to enable the use of a parallel port network adapter on the
STB, the only mechanism to communicating with anything is via the internal
modem.

The benefit is that you can stay connected as long as you like for free.

But, this is a bit silly, to dial-in to my RRAS server.
I have ADSL and I don't want to restrict myself to 28K or whatever speed of
built-in modem is.
