1 rabbit -> 1 Pic -> several triacs

It looks as though I might have some spare pins so i was thinking...

what about mounting a 1 wire temp sensor on the heat sink and running
a short 1 wire bus though the triac boards. I could then shutdown a
channel which may be overloaded ? I am sure I will have enough code
space to knock up a 1 wire interface.

As I see it one problem might be the risk of a non isolated part on
the triac card, what do you think is this a bit of an OTT idea ?
