Hi All,

I currently have a three-room Linn Knekt stereo system and am adding
additional rooms using X-10 based technology. Please could someone advise
on the following -

1. For the bathroom I'm using a power-amp connected to the bedroom system
(using phono cables) - so when the bedroom system provides a signal this
also goes to the bathroom using the bedroom's volume control as the master.
The power-amp is switched on/off using the main TM12U radio-receiver/X-10
appliance module. I have a Power-mid in the bedroom which transmits I/R
signals to the Knekt wall outlet for volume etc. via the UR24E Marmitek
remote's learning functions. What I'd like to do is have a set of buttons
on the wall in the bathroom that I can use as on/off and volume control.
Obviously this is attainable cannibalising a UR24E remote, but I wondered
if
there was a better way of working this (I can solder, but am not very good
with electronics in general!) so that I get the volume control functions to
the Power-mid and the on/off to the TM12U.

2. For an additional room I have another power-amp connected to an X-10
appliance module, again using the UR24E for volume and on/off as in (1)
above; the issue is that the LED on the front of the power-amp glows (at a
reduced level to when on) whilst it's connected to the appliance module. I
understand that there may be some power drawn into the module, but firstly,
is it damaging the amplifier being in this state, and secondly, is it safe
from an electrical situation as everything is in a cupboard where it
wouldn't normally be seen day-to-day.

Thanks in advance for any assistance with the above,
Chris.
