New Electronics HA articles

Hi,

The Tuesday 13th July edition of New Electronics http://www.neon.co.uk
contains an article called "Domestic Harmony". It is the usual
hype
about all your domestic products being connected and communicating. It
has references to all the big chip and modile phone manufactures as well
as Sun (Jini). Echelon and Lonworks seem to dominate the article as the
communication mechanism.

More interesting though is a small news item earlier in the magazine
about Pace called "Box Clever" and is about how Pace is
developing the
next generation of smart set top boxs. It will be "the IT hub of the
smart home, providing internet access and communication with sensors
around the home". It briefly discusses communication methods and says
that Pace favour a ring main based mechanism, Lonworks gets a mention
again but Pace will not be drawn on the system it will eventually use.

As an aside, is anyone else getting all the egroup message twice ?
