They are exactly the same. The only difference is that the software in the
Pronto says Pronto, whereas in the Marantz it says RC-5000. The Rc-5000
ships with a later version of the firmware, but Philips have at last (in
the last week or so) released an update to ProntoEdit and the firmware at
www.pronto.philips.com. Apart from a few bug fixes it now allows for the
creation of hidden panels.

The RC-5000 price includes the charging dock.

Does anybody have direct experience of the Pronto IR handset and the
Marantz RC2000? I know that Mike sells the Pronto, but have so far been
unable to find a reseller for the marantz. The question is "should I
care?"
