James,
all the indications (from previous mails) suggest that any kind of DIY
automation here is a no-goer.
However something that may interest you is a range of gas fires from
Dimplex called Jetmaster. They sell a variety of gas (real flame type)
fires. They also sell a wall-mounted controller that "allows you to
light
and control the output of the fire at the touch of a switch". It's
battery
powered.
I don't have one of these and so don't know if they could be controlled via
X10 - but it may be worth a phone call or two.
Dimplex - 01703 777117
01703 785133
Fax - 01703 771096
If you do look into this, please let me know as I am considering a real or
gas "real" fire.
Clive

Hi All
I have a gas fire in my front room (one of those ones which is meant to
look like a real fire)...anyone know of an X10 (ideally) device which
will let me automatically turn it on/off (will need to include some
kind of gas flow on/off as well as a spark to light the gas when
switched on....)
Cheers
James
