Smarthome had nothing to do with the Echelon white paper - it is on an
Echelon letterhead.

It may work for you if your home has none of the RF gremlins that most homes
do and you (and neighbors) don't use other 900MHz devices. I'm sure your
feedback will be welcomed.

Note that the UK poster in that other forum added an idle node halfway
between house and outbuilding to bridge the gap. You might be able to do
something similar, if needed.

You should also note the feedback from "petem" who has a more typical house.
