Down-sizing to one phone line...

I recently moved into a house with two lines already installed.  I want
to get rid of the second line and add 3 or 4 wall jacks to my existing
first line.  Qwest wants at least $85 for fixing this... I'd rather do
it myself, but I don't know how.  Any advice would be very appreciated.
