I disagree.  It may have been unwelcome but it doesn't qualify as spam.

Well, you know me.  I make part of my living here but try to contribute
something of value to the group as well.  I also try to be pretty tolerant
of other folks' commercialism (glass houses and so forth).

I don't know.  I tried e-Bay a couple of times just to see if it was worth
the effort.  For me it wasn't.
