The GoControl has been out for about 3 years now and from what I can
tell it's been extremely reliable which is surprising for a first
generation system

The issue isn't with the panel but the cell card which IS also made by
2GIG (actually Linear), they buy the SIM cards from Alarm.com. This
recall affects around 1,000 cards.
