I use a regular phone company phone line for my voice calls. Most of
my calls go through ok... But sometimes I get a weird message or tone
when trying to call someone. I call again and I get through. The
person on the other end says they were not on the phone and their
phone was working ok.

Then with people who have those cable TV phones, I have had a lot of
trouble getting through sometimes. I keep calling and eventually get
through (after maybe 15 minutes). But again nothing wrong with the
phones at the place I was calling. They sometimes say they could not
dial out either. But then suddenly their phones start working again.

And someone I know who has an "internet phone"... many times it is
impossible to get through and frequently a poor connection.

Bottom line: Phone service is the WORST now I have ever seen it. 30
years ago it was much more reliable. Local calls always went through
with no problem (if not busy), but sometimes long distance trunk lines
would be busy...
