The Royal Ulster Constabulary was the police force in Northern Ireland, its
now been renamed/reformed as the PSNI-the Police Service of Northern
Ireland. The Nationalists tended to look upon the RUC as favouring the
Loyalists, the Loyalists probably didn't see it quite the same way. In any
event the RUC suffered a lot of casualties during the troubles.
