Re: Looking of a door access system

Roland,

I have installed the PXL500 system from Keri Systems. Actually have 4 units
in 4 different towns all connected and controlled from one location. Not
sure what you mean about "low end gear (all plastic control housings)".
Unless you are talking about some other model that I am not aware about.

The reasons I chose the PXL500 when I did was for a number of reasons. The
main reason was I did not have to become an 'authorized dealer' with a
required training course and a minimum purchase. Second the system could do
what the customer wanted and for a good price when compared with others.
Another reason was the software (Doors) was a free download from there
website. And last the tech support was very helpful before I purchased as
well as after the system was installed. All very important!!!

The install was easy but did have some issue during the network setup that
was mostly due to my ignorance with networks. Once I got the jist of the
procedure all went well and when I had a snag the tech guys got my fat out
of the fryer.

Except for a couple of "out of my control" issues the systems have been
working fine for over 2 years now.

With this new project it seems that the free standing system may not happen
and I will be spec'ing the PXL500. The price is only going to be about $200
more. And it will do everything the customer wants it to do and more.

Hope this helps with your knowledge base.

Have a good day.

Les
