Re: DCS Power 832

Ok, I went back and carefully re read the original post. He did say he
was asking for the installer code, but I think as an end user, he
didn't realize that NO ONE gives out their installer code for all the
usual reasons. I don't think he even realized that's how our industry
works in that the code is traditionally changed from factory. He just
wants the ability to access installer level programming mode and
doesn't give a hoot whether the company gives out their particular
installer code, or puts back the factory one.

I guess we look at his post a little differently. I don't sense any
"attitude" here, other than a quite understandable concern because he
has no control over his property as he should after all contracts are
clearly done with. Since there has been no discussion on his part about
paying for anything, I can't conclude anything either way about his
attitude to paying for the company to do the work (either over the
phone or via a service call).

Anyway Jack, sorry about blowing a fuse. It was a bad day yesterday,
and I kinda over-reacted. My apologies for the unkind words, but I do
see a lot of misuse of this feature. But I can assure you, no one hear
including me thinks anyone should work for nothing. But there is a
certain onus on those who control someone else's property to act in a
certain manner. Most alarmcos do; it's the ones that don't that I see a
la the many letters and boards I receive.

Cheers !

RHC
