Correct.  On all counts.  NFPA does permit connection of his single or
multi-station smoke alarms to his security alarm panel though.

You have an uncanny ability to state the obvious.  What has this to do
with his connecting his AC smokes to his *security alarm panel*?

No one here has "suggested it"...  We've all suggested using supervised
smoke detectors.  However, I have also stated that there is no code or
statute which prohibits what the OP wants to do.
