Actually, the licensing agency records are rife with errors, and it
takes a bit of detective work to determine if a company is actually
licensed.
For instance, Bay Alarm Company, a large CA alarm vendor, was unlicensed
for over 5 years, but the online license info appeared to indicate that
it was licensed. See "An Inconvenient Truth" for more info on that.
