Economical DVR suggestions?

What low-end/high-end DVRs have you found to be reliable with
customer-friendly applications? What manufacturers have you been
disappointed with?
Who has the best technical support?

We've used Ever-Focus and Integral (First Line) with mixed results. Looking
for something that's simple enough to allow customers to capture video on
their own when needed. (So far, Integral's 500 looks like a good solution
for high-end).
