Using the 2 obvious choices as examples.......Brinks and ADT panels
remain the property of the respective companies at all times. Anyone
outside of those companies who unlocks those boards is either using
confidential information or hacking systems that don't belong to them.

How ethical is that?

Anyone willing to pay the price

Because they are ethically challenged? How would you feel if someone
hacked your fire panels and flipped your customers over to their
company? You broke your ass installing the system and some wiseass with
a modem and your lockout code is snagging your accounts. That wouldn't
bother you, Frank?

So as long as you don't know about it then it's acceptable?
There's more than 2 that hawk their wares here, and more than 2 idiots
(you forgot to count me). I've been coming here for 8+ years and that
FAQ nonsense is just as meaningless today as it was back then. This is
an alt. newsgroup. This is not a moderated forum. The guy who wrote
that isn't here but is referred to in some god-like status. In the time
I have been here I have seen every attempt possible made at preventing
the group from being used as a billboard. I was involved in alot of
those attempts. What a waste of my time that was. It's just a shame
that others still haven't realized they too are wasting time.

I disagree and for reasons stated in my original post.

Licenses mean diddly dick right now.
I can grab a license in umpteen states by signing a check.
Many states offer licensing tests online so who is to prevent someone
from having another person take the test for them?
If Robert or anyone else wanted a license they could have one through
various means.
