Need some ideas

I would like to make something that I can use a motion sensor like on
outdoor light to alert me when there is movement in a area in my house. I
want to place the sensor in one place and have it light a light blud in
another area of my house.

I would like to do this as cheap as possible this doesn't have to be a major
security device.
