You could pick up a very basic PC for under $300 that's more than
sufficient for two-tofour cameras (here's an example of what I can get
here in Vancouver: http://a-power.com/sys/ap04-soho.asp), plug a VJUSB4
into it (find a local dealer from VI's website), and you're off to the
races for well under a grand!
