Yes indeed.  They are useless junk.  They cannot protect you.  The company is a
scam operation.  The detectors were the subject of a government enforced recall.

The ionization detectors are not really recommended for residential use.
Standard procedure is to use photoelectric smoke detectors in residential
installations.  Stand-alone ionization detectors are worth about $20 to $30
apiece.  Wind-up heat detectors have no value at all.

If you want a fire alarm, either hire a professional alarm company to install
one or buy it and install it yourself.  Do NOT under any circumstances buy
anything from Detech or any of the other company names these people have set up.
