Actually these boards aren't locked out.  I have the dealer code from the
original installer.  They lock up and quit working.  I never get the chance
to enter the code.  They just die.  DMP has me measure the voltage across a
couple of the leads and then they pronounce the processor locked up.  Not
locked out.  They say the board must be replaced.  I replace it with another
brand.  I am a servicing dealer so I can buy replacement boards, but the
lack of cooperation or support I have received along with other behavior has
caused me to eat the extra cash to put in something else a little better and
more flexible when that happens.  In fact tech support is the only part of
the company where I have received decent support from them.  They can't tell
me why this happens though or what can be done to prevent it.  The tech guys
just go, "well sorry."
