What is it in the roof space you are trying to protect? If you are already
**fully** protecting the shop with interior protection, why would it be
necessary to put devices in an area that is not environmentally sound,
temperature controlled, noisy (with tin roof and duct work), dirty, dusty, a
great habitat for critters and not very service friendly. You may be
building in a problem rather than a solution. If it is a big concern
(problem) to detect someone coming in from above and the budget allows, set
up a grid of beams just under the ceiling level within the protected area.
