Having never installed a fire alarm in a barn, I can't dispute that.
However, I've used ROR detectors in commercial and residential apps for
decades and they gave no problems.  Besides, attic exhaust fans only lower
the attic temperature.  A sudden *decrease* does not trip an RoR.  That's
not how they work.
