Obviously you have not worked with the same amount of heat travelling thru
roofs with big exhaust fans i have
The flash of heat cuased by the air movement causes the false as it begins
to pull extremely hot air thru the cooler area where  multiple restaurant
hoods  and other high heat process hoods peneatrate the roof void areas .
the units say right on them avoid areas were temp changes rapidly.
I had a problem particularly were industrial furnaces  and kilns are
involved. put in the fixed 200 and never had another problem.
