maybe related,

the following happened last night so i will not get a chance to
repeat the test until next week, so its for info only at this stage,
just in case it points to any bugs.

1. had my laptop on battery and got MVP working, went for a cup of
tea, when i came back, the "connecting to servers" screen was
displayed. The laptop screensaver was active, as soon as i moved the
mouse, the mvp main menu came back up.

2. Had a rio and mvp connected, disconnected mvp, set rio up with
some songs to fall to sleep with, the laptop was very noisy all
night but only bothered to look in the morning, cpu was at 99% due
to xpl.
